Portugal/Spain, Atlantic Coast

In the footsteps of the 'discoverers'

Impressive sailing possibilities connecting Lisbon and Torre de Belem (where caravels from India loaded with pepper and cloves were greeted on their return), Cabo Sao Vicente – the most south-westerly point in Europe – to the mouth of the Guadalquivir, the 3000 year old port city of Cadiz and the dream city of Seville with the Alcazar (headquarters of the Admiralty). Explore its "Torre D'Oro" and the "Archivo dos Indias" which are the most important sites of the Portuguese and Spanish explorer history.

Sail along the spectacular coast of the rocky Algarve, the lagoon of Faro, the river cruise on the Guadalquivir in the largest bird sanctuary in Europe and the Feria in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. With the possibility to enjoy many nice nautical sailing miles in the Atlantic Ocean, sailing in this area offers a combination of many highlights.

On 'Nelson's' tracks
You can also combine a visit of the dream city of Seville, the ancient port city of Cadiz, a trip up the Guadalquivir along Europe's largest bird sanctuary, then along the Spanish Atlantic coast and the famous Cape Trafalgar where Nelson struck the French/Spanish fleet in 1805. Then sailing along with the enormous ship traffic, the currents and the many whales and dolphins in the Strait of Gibraltar, with Ceuta, the Spanish enclave in Morocco and finally the Rock of Gibraltar itself. Sailing here combines challenging Atlantic sailing with many other highlights that can actually be experienced from aboard a sailing yacht.
